This product was created for logistics professionals in the transportation industry. The application is used by fleet operators, service providers, subcontractors, distributors, and truck drivers.
The client already had a telematics system in place. This system included sensors on the vehicles and software that processed information from them. It was used only internally by dispatchers and did not provide any tools for drivers.

Some of the issues with the software in place included:
Ineffective Feedback
There was a lack of communication between dispatchers and their drivers. This was especially critical when issues occurred with routes or orders.
Manual Operations
Assigning drivers to orders and communicating updates was handled manually, increasing the risk of mismanagement, especially during high-volume periods. This ultimately led to increased workload, increased risk of error, and extra expenses, and negatively affected the quality of the company’s service.
Safety Risks
A key priority was ensuring the application could be used safely while drivers were on the road.

The answer was to make the telematics system self-sufficient and versatile. Our application allows the company to get the most out of its telematics system without needing additional equipment. We added the following functions:

  • Automated departure and arrival scheduling
  • Monitoring drivers' work and rest schedules

Driver safety was a key priority during development
To ensure it, we implemented the following technologies:
  • Standard App Interfaces (SAI)
    We aligned our interface with Volkswagen’s existing in-vehicle UI standards. We used key principles to ensure the interface was predictable, visible, simple, and therefore user-friendly.
  • MirrorLink Certification
    We ensured the application was ready to use for drivers by meeting compliance requirements for MirrorLink. This certification confirmed that the application met safety standards for in-vehicle use.
